Lamborghini Enters the World of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

After a series of social media posts that hint at it, Italian supercar-maker Lamborghini has finally announced its first NFT (non-fungible token) project. Space Key is being developed in collaboration with a non-disclosed artist and based on the latest carbon fiber composite materials that were shipped to the International Space Station as research material, is a project which was announced by Lamborghini.

The Space Key is made from carbon fiber composite materials that Lamborghini sent to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of a research project. It's called the Space Key, it consists of five items that unlock an exclusive digital artwork NFT created by an unidentified artist. Each Space Key contains a block composed of carbon-fired composite material. It was shipped to the International Space Station as part of a research project in 2019. After returning to Earth the Space Key was engraved with a QR code, which connects it to the digital element of the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys features a different moment that occurs at different times when the Lamborghini Ultimae takes off towards the stars. Over 600 million pixels each of the five images, which were captured by photographer Fabian Oefner.

Oefner utilized a balloon with a camera to capture each of the individual shots which were then combined into the final image. The result is a truly out of this world image that captures the beauty of the Earth as well as the futuristic, hyper-realistic image of the car rising away from it. The Space Keys will be auctioned off in the near future, however the exact date and time of the auction haven't yet been announced yet.
